Dead Serious Case #3 Mr Bruce Reyes (EBOOK)

Another Absolutely Brilliant edition to this amazing series by Vawn Cassidy. Tristan & Danny are awesome together and deal with a lot from the paranormal world a cold case to solve and this time it's Bruce's body being found solving his murder stopping a chaos demon a visit from Death him and Chan together so adorable Tristan and Danny with the help of Dusty, Chan, Sam and Harrison are in for one hell of a ride and I love all of these fantastic characters I can't get enough love the writing, the story it's funny, emotional, beautiful truly outstanding can't wait for next one recommend so much.

This one had a bit more pain and sadness, but yet it felt light to me. Hurt enough to cry, but at the same time, I was also smiling, because it was a good pain. If that makes sense. At least that's what it felt like to me. It was sweet, beautiful and amazing. Just like the first two. And this series has definitely just become one of my top favorites. Seriously people. This series had been exactly what I needed to get me out of several days of...feeling down and sad enough to want to scream. It had been a burst of joy in the darkness. They're a bit sad, as death and loss always are, but...they're not as heavy as some of the others out there, and the romance and friendship were so sweet, it helped ease the sadness and bring a smile on my lips and joy in my heart. I loved it, I cannot wait for the 4th book, and I seriously hope the series is gonna have many more books. After all, you can never run out of murders (gosh, that sounds depressing) and ghosts. There are many cop shows out there that lasted for many seasons. Surely a series like this one, that also has so much romance and beautiful friendships and sweetness in them, HAS to make it longer than just a few books, right? Even if the couple advances in their relationship and take it one step further, they can keep going, right? Solving crimes, hopefully most often together. I could never get tired of romance, that's for sure. And such beautiful and amazing books are so difficult to find😞 so I really hope the author is going to write many more books in this series. Maybe even get a book for Chan, and Harrison and Sam. Maybe add a few more friends in the group. So many possibilities. Please, please, please, make the series as long as possible. It's a burst of joy I really don't want to lose😞🤗

Danny and Tris really went through some serious bouts of supernatural bad juju this time around. Thankfully, they’ve got the rest of the Dead Serious Scooby Gang (plus some new additions) to help them out with their latest mystery - What exactly is the unfinished business of Mr. Bruce Reyes? And where in the universe is all this rain coming from?!

I loved the introduction of Death, and I just know it’s going to be a hoot watching him deal with this particular set of mortals. Danny and Tris are navigating their relationship as it moves to the next level, Dusty hates feellliiinnggggssss, Sam things this is all fascinating (in like a funny but still totally serious way), Harrison has no idea what he’s doing with these people (and spirits…), and Mama Chan just keeps all her little ducklings in a row while looking totally fierce.

This book sets us up for another story in the DS series, and I can’t wait (no cliffhangers)!

I am reading this book for the umpteenth time, it's just so good, laugh out loud moments, but also some emotional moments that bring a tear to the eye.
I cant say enough positive things about the whole series so I will just say all the books are fabulous ✨️

Part three in this very amusing series, where Tristan and his friends have to save the world. The banter and found family are outstanding, as are the relationships between a variety of couples - Chan and Death in particular. If anything, it is actually the relationship between Tristan and Danny that is very much in the background in this episode. The group of wonderful characters is still growing, and I'm looking forward to what they will get up to next time.

The third instalment in Cassidy's Crawshanks Guide to the Recently Departed series is about a paranormal mystery that somehow balances a cold case from 1984, an apocalyptic chaos entity, a drag queen ghost in a Flash Gordon bikini, and a genuinely moving love story, without dropping a single ball.

The mystery itself is genuinely moving. Bruce Reyes, the ghost at the centre of it all, turns out not to be a murder victim at all, but a man who died in a tragic accident and spent forty years haunting the site of his own grief, unable to face what he'd lost. His reunion with his former lover Jack, now dying in a hospital bed, is one of the most quietly devastating scenes in the book.

The supporting cast is a joy: Chan, the magnificent drag queen who matter-of-factly goes on a date with Death and returns from Paris slightly dishevelled and entirely unrepentant; Sam, the ex-copper PI with suspiciously nimble fingers and a slow-burn dynamic with prickly witch Harrison; the ensemble from The Rainbow Room, who show up to help move furniture in full sequins without a second thought. These people feel like a real found family.

Dead Serious Case #3 Mr Bruce Reyes is the third book in the Crawshanks Guide to the Recently Departed series. In my opinion this series is best read in order as it follows an established couple. We are back with Tristan, Danny, Dusty, and friends for the next case. This was just as fun to read as the other books in the series. We get lots of humor, mysteries, steam, and found family. The case was full of twists and turns that kept me guessing. We also meet new characters including Death himself. I love this series and can't put the book down once I start it. until I finish it. Any book that can make me happy and sad is one I would recommend and this one did both so I would definitely recommend it as a 5 star read.

Honestly, this is probably one of my favorites throughout the series! I just love the fact that we get to know a little bit more about Bruce and we get more of Bruce and Dusty’s relationship!

I also really enjoyed meeting Death for, technically, the first time and how obsessed he was with Chan. I was dying with laughter when Chan kept thinking they had a stalker and Death just popped in and was like “you didn’t like my gifts?” *cue sad face* I don’t know what it is about Death and Chan but honestly they just fit soooo well and I love them together. Also Death realizing what the ultimate gift to Chan would be and just giving it to her with no question definitely made me swoon lol.

Also love love love Tristan and Danny’s relationship. The way that Danny is just there for all the crazy and just kind of accepts it, even if it does take him a minute to get used to it. His love for Tristan is amazing and definitely makes him a man above men! Tbh every relationship in this story is a masterpiece!

But it’s not just the relationships that make this story great, it’s the mystery, the adventure, the supernatural elements, and honestly the friendships. The way everyone at the Rainbow club dropped everything for Danny and Tristan was super sweet! The way Sam and Harrison joined in on the mystery and actually did research on their own definitely made me wish for friendships like this! And the way Harrison pretty much dropped everything when he realized Tristan’s dad was in danger was amazing.

This story is a favorite of mine throughout the series, and probably throughout all the books I’ve read, because of the mystery, the end of the world deadline, the relationships, the friendships, the adventure, the supernatural elements, and everything in between made this a story that I flew through and made it a story that I would not mind reading again and again.

Wow! Where to begin except to say I was up all night reading because I couldn't put it down. This whole series has so much heart, humor, love and mystery. This book has all that but, in a larger amount. There is a larger presence of secondary characters, blooming romances within those characters, and found family shenanigans. Danny and Tristan navigate their relationship as events seem to drop on their heads and things get serious.

This book is very much about Danny and Tristan and how their relationship is evolving from the events in the previous book. It's about Bruce and Dusty and their relationship as they learn more about Bruce while alive and after his death. It's about saving the world.

I can't wait for the next installment of this series and can't wait to see where they take Danny, Tristan and the rest of their found family next.

I don't think I have laughed so much recently reading a book.

This series definitely gets better and better. You need to read these books in order to really enjoy the story and the characters.

Danny and Tristan are now settling into domestic life and growing a group of living and dead friends.
Unfortunatetly the slight surprise at the end of the second book is now coming to bite them.

They only have a handful of days to avoid chaos destroying everything. And even the weather trumps everything London normally sees. So this mismatched crew is on the task.

Tristan and Danny are a great couple and their chemistry is ongoing strong. I love that their relationship is a big part of the book despite now being properly established.
Their friends are also developing well, it's a really good mix of characters, they have well written depth and are still coming up with new things about them to discover.

The mystery around Bruce and his story is amazing, you really feel with him and what happened and cheer for the way Tristan and gang are racing to find the truth so chaos can be trapped.

The amount of humor is fantastic.

I can't wait for Case #4.

Another excellent addition to the series!! I had a blast reading this. And the new additions to the whole Tris, Danny and Dusty family are brilliant, my new favourite is Death :) A very original storyline, lots of humour, scary moments, sweet, sometimes sad times, (Tris's dad and his dementia, for example), interspersed with some steamy times. Oh, and let's not forget the suspense of the end of days, if the gang can't stop chaos from ending the world!
This is really an excellent series, and I think this installment is now my new favourite of the series, so far. Highly recommend!

Ghostly Interference! I have never laughed so much at two guys never being able to get any privacy. This was such a clever way to spice up the romance with a lot of reader pining created for the intimate scenes. You just cannot help but smile and laugh. Dusty has Tristan involved in more dangerous shenanigans. I just adore every character and their adorkable personalities and the way they interact with each other and in strange situation. Fun and exciting read with Tristan and Danny continuing to fall in love!

What can you say about a book that gives you a sweet million year old death deity whose love language is gifting Venus De Milo (yes, that one!)? You give it as many stars as you can. Yes, yes, our ever increasing Scooby gang is trying to save the world from Chaos, while keeping Bruce on this side of the pearly gates but Vawn surrounds Tristan and Danny with laugh out loud moments (please, someone draw that coffee table!) as well as tender moments. Danny really gets to see what Tristan's world is like. Tristan realizes he's so not alone. And of course smexy times happen! Vawn allows us to see behind Dusty's teased hair and heels. God bless, Bruce, yes, I cried. And then guffawed over clueless Chan. Oh, Ari and Benny! Harrison, our favorite witch, and Sam, our favorite PI, need a story so bad! Never has a book made me want so many stories. Vawn has created a world so rich and lush with such a found family.

P.S. That party...I need a story with individual chapters of all partygoers' POV!

Loved this new adventure!

Tristan, Danny and the gang are back for another adventure. This time it involves Bruce and his connections to the past, Death and his connection to Chan and Tristan and Danny trying to get some desperately needed alone time for their own personal “connection”. There’s also the minor detail of a cataclysmic event that needs to be derailed.
I loved the antics of this eclectic group who had me laughing out loud. From Dusty and her drag outfits suitable for every occasion to Sam and his snarky comments, the at times clueless Death and the dry humour of Harrison that started to peak through.
There’s also moments of tenderness and sweetness shown to others by Tristan and Danny that warmed my heart.
Battling foul weather and foul deeds Tristan and Danny strengthen their relationship to each other, and the cast of side characters, along the way to defeating the villain of the piece.
I loved every moment of this very enjoyable and engaging instalment of the series and look forward to more.
